About the Artist
J. S Whiddett BA(HONS) Fine Art
After gaining a BTEC in Art & Design at the Colchester Insitute, Joy went on to specialise in sculpture at the Norwich School of Art, graduating with a BA (Honours) in 1998.
Since graduating Joy worked for 5 years in the Special Needs sector as an Art tutor whilst running a private gallery in Norwich. Joy now dedicates all her time to making art, and has exhibited widely in the Uk and sells internationally.
Much of the artists work is a reflection of the world around us. Sometimes it is a politcal or social statement and other times a visual summary or interpretation of both the physical and emotional elements that affect us.
'I will make work as a response to what I see, feel, hear and think. Sometimes it is kind, pleasant and even playful and other times it can be challenging and disturbing. Hopefully it is always interesting.'
